Senior Software Engineer - Data

We believe that advances in robotics development will result in dramatic improvements to society's quality of life through enhancements in agriculture, manufacturing, supply chain logistics, critical systems maintenance, sustainability efforts, and healthcare. By providing robotics data platform capabilities, we allow robotics developers to focus on key robotics challenges without spending time or effort on managing data and downstream workflows.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and support greenfield data services and infrastructure to accelerate robotics development.
- Solve complex data problems in an intellectually stimulating environment.
- Architect scalable solutions for an expanding customer base and drive operational operational efficiencies.
- Drive product direction.
- Mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience writing code to build and enhance distributed cloud-based services.
- Ability to design and maintain scalable and reliable systems.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices.
- Fluency in Python.
- Experience with data engineering, including building data pipelines and designing data-intensive systems. Experience with libraries and tools such as pandas and Jupyter Notebook.
- Driven to learn new languages and technologies
- Experience designing reliable software solutions.
- Ability to work with customers to understand requirements.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility to deliver quality work.
- Experience supporting and deploying to production systems at scale.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers.
Bonus Points
- Experience with data format optimization; SQL database experience.
- Experience with cloud data infrastructure and Terraform, including job orchestration platforms.
- Experience developing using Docker.
- Experience with golang and/or C++.
- Experience contributing to open source solutions and communities.
